Network Security Engineer (L2/L3 Fortinet Firewall Support)

Role Description

Firewall Operations Support

* Provide L2/L3 support for FortiGate firewalls in production, DR, and non-production environments.

* Manage and support firewall policy configuration and optimization, including:

* NAT

* VIPs

* Routing

* Access rules

* VPNs (IPSec, Site-to-Site, Remote Access SSL VPN)

* Monitor firewall health, performance, and security events.

* Perform incident troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

### Security Compliance

* Ensure firewall configurations comply with enterprise security policies and BFSI regulatory requirements.

* Support audits, vulnerability assessments, and firewall rule reviews.

* Work with SOC and risk teams to support incident response and investigations.

### Documentation & Collaboration

* Maintain accurate documentation including network diagrams, rule matrices, and SOPs.

* Collaborate with Network Infrastructure, SOC/SIEM, Application, and Cloud teams.

* Provide operational handover, knowledge transfer, and support readiness documentation.

## Essential Skills

* 6–8 years of experience as a Network Security Engineer with Fortinet Firewall support.

* Hands-on experience with Fortinet security products, primarily:

* FortiGate Firewalls

* FortiOS

* FortiManager (policy management and central administration)

* FortiAnalyzer (log analysis preferred)

* Strong understanding of:

* TCP/IP, routing, DNS, NAT

* Network security principles

* Firewall policy design and best practices

* Experience with VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL).

* Experience in enterprise or BFSI environments preferred.

* Exposure to on-call rotation or managed security services is a plus.

* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

* Clear verbal and written communication skills.

* Ability to work under pressure in critical incident scenarios.
