Front End Service Clerk (Quarry Park) (Calgary)

We invite you to join our team as a Floral Utility Clerk. This role focuses on delivering excellent customer service, maintaining a safe and well‑presented floral department, and supporting all aspects of merchandising and operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and maintain positive customer relations by handling questions, comments, requests, and complaints.
• Work in a diverse team environment in a proficient and friendly manner.
• Maintain display presentation, stock levels, and watering of products.
• Execute merchandising programs and follow direction.
• Handle and prepare floral products, including potted and cut plants.
• Support outdoor floral, balloon program, and giftware.
• Communicate professionally with potential clients and businesses for events.
• Ensure merchandise quality, minimize damage and markdowns.
• Provide pricing information for arrangements, cut floral, potted plants, and giftware.
• Complete all required arrangement instructions accurately.
• Perform general cleanup duties such as cleaning spills, counters, and display fixtures.
• Keep the sales floor free of cardboard and debris.
• Follow Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental regulations to safeguard staff and customers.
• Care for, use, and maintain equipment and tools.
• Report repair needs to the Produce Supervisor, Produce, or Duty Manager.
• Handle ordering of merchandise and supplies.
• Inform customers about floral arrangement timelines.
• Receive and verify invoices, returns, transfers, claims, and store products properly.
• Control shrink by reviewing weekly shrink reports and collaborating with supervisors and managers.
• Organize and conduct inventory and ordering duties.
• Communicate positively with vendors.
• Build and maintain displays for seasonal events such as outdoor floral, Valentine’s Day, and Mother’s Day.

Minimum Qualifications

• Grade 9 or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Related floral retail experience, including customer service.
• Floral designer certificate or equivalent experience in floral arranging.
• Fluency in English.
• Knowledge of ordering merchandise and supplies, and related procedures.
• Ability to customize floral arrangements to customer requests.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous retail or related experience.
