Skye Avenue Kitchen & Lounge is a new, upscale dining and entertainment concept in the heart of Surrey’s rapidly growing business district. Our brand-new venue features one of the world’s largest whisky collections, a private dining room, two chef’s tables, a main bar, private whisky & cognac lounge, and patio.

Our culinary program combines fine-dining techniques, fresh local ingredients, scratch cooking, molecular gastronomy and innovative mixology , creating an environment where hospitality professionals can learn, grow and build their careers.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for professional, energetic and guest-focused Servers to join our opening team.

As a Server at Skye Avenue, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional dining experience from greeting to farewell. You will be knowledgeable about our food and beverage offerings, confident in making recommendations, and committed to delivering polished, attentive service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide professional, attentive and personalized service to every guest.
• Accurately take and enter food and beverage orders using POS systems.
• Communicate guest requests, dietary requirements and allergies clearly to the kitchen and bar teams.
• Demonstrate detailed knowledge of menu items, ingredients, daily features and beverage offerings.
• Make informed food, whisky, wine and cocktail recommendations.
• Ensure orders are accurate and delivered promptly and professionally.
• Monitor tables throughout the guest experience and anticipate guest needs.
• Process bills and payments accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized and professional service environment.
• Work closely with the kitchen, bar and management teams to ensure smooth service.
• Follow all food safety, liquor service, workplace safety and operational standards.
• Help minimize product waste, breakage and spillage.
• Support opening, closing and side duties as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the FBS, Assistant Restaurant Manager or Restaurant Manager.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous serving experience in a high-end restaurant, hotel, lounge or hospitality environment .
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A polished, professional and friendly personality.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• The ability to confidently answer guest questions and make recommendations.
• Strong POS and payment-processing skills.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Ability to remain calm, composed and professional during busy service periods.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.

CERTIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Serving It Right certification required.
• FoodSafe certification required.
• Mixology, bartending or beverage-service experience is an asset.
• Experience with OpenTable, POS systems, Push Operations and electronic payment systems is an asset.
• Knowledge of whisky, wine, cocktails and premium spirits is an asset.
• Additional language skills are an asset.
• Excellent spoken and written English.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently bend, reach and stoop.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 44 lbs.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy, high-energy restaurant environment.
