Director, Accounting

The Director will lead 3‑4 direct managers at manager or senior manager level, oversee a total team of over 14, and experience long‑term career growth.

What- the Role:

The Director will lead managers and senior managers who in turn have teams of direct reports in corporate accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. The role collaborates with leaders of other functions such as tax, FP&A, treasury, risk management, payroll, and may offer future cross‑training. The Director will also contribute to post‑acquisition integration work. The position offers a substantive career path to leadership in a large, complex corporation.

Who- the Candidate:

We seek a dynamic, strategic, and proactive accounting leader with excellent mentorship and coaching abilities. Leadership is the most crucial component of this role. The candidate should have a track record of successfully leading the corporate accounting function in a large, complex, multi‑national business.

What- the Qualifications:

• 10+ years progressive experience within Accounting and Finance, including direct oversight of Corporate Accounting and Operational Accounting (Financial Reporting, AP, and AR)
• CPA designation required; MBA viewed favorably
• Experience in a large company (minimum $400M in revenues) with multi‑entity, multi‑currency operations and complex consolidations
• Experience leading at least 2 direct reports and at least 5 indirect reports (managers)
• Foundational training at a multi‑national public practice accounting firm
• Exposure to M&A, particularly post‑acquisition integration, is an asset
• Exposure to US business operations highly preferred
• Extensive experience collaborating with C‑Suite executives and board members
• Experience working with ERP systems in complex technology environments—bonus points for SAP or Oracle
• Proven process improvement and change management skills
• Ability to work cross‑functionally across the business and build effective relationships with non‑finance colleagues
• Demonstrated desire to deeply understand the relationship between business operations and accounting
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, retail, or another sector involving inventory and logistics is an asset, but not required

How Much:

Competitive base salary commensurate with level of experience, skills, and qualifications, likely in the range of $160,000 to $180,000.
