Nanny Wanted - Seeking A Part Time Nanny To Support Our Toddler After Preschool $25/Hour

We are a family who recently relocated from the UK to beautiful Victoria, BC. We have a fun, energetic daughter, Emilia, who turns three in October. She’s confident, affectionate and full of personality. She loves dancing, painting, books, outdoor adventures, playgrounds, hide-and-seek and anything that keeps her active and engaged. Emilia has always been cared for at home by us and our nanny in the UK, so this is a big transition for our family. She has recently started preschool and genuinely enjoys being with other children, but we’re finding that she’s not yet managing to nap well there. As sleep is very important for her wellbeing, we’re exploring a schedule that combines preschool with one-on-one care. The role would primarily involve picking Emilia up from preschool, bringing her home for a proper afternoon nap, and then spending the rest of the afternoon playing, exploring local parks, reading, doing crafts or enjoying other age-appropriate activities until we return home from work. As we’re new to Victoria and don’t have family nearby, we’re hoping to find someone who will become a trusted and consistent part of Emilia’s life. Responsibilities

• Pick up Emilia from preschool.
• Help her settle for her afternoon nap at home.
• Plan fun, engaging activities after she wakes, both at home and outdoors.
• Prepare simple snacks or meals for her as needed.
• Keep play areas and children’s items tidy after activities.
• Communicate with us about her day and any important updates.

We’re looking for someone who

• Has experience caring for toddlers.
• Is warm, patient and genuinely enjoys spending time with young children.
• Understands the importance of maintaining a consistent nap routine.
• Is energetic, creative and enjoys imaginative play, arts and crafts, reading and outdoor activities.
• Is reliable, communicative and ideally looking for a longer-term position.
• Speaks Spanish (or is happy to support a bilingual environment), as Emilia speaks both English and Spanish.
• Has CPR/First Aid certification (or is willing to obtain it).

Additional opportunities There may also be opportunities for some household support while Emilia is at preschool. This is entirely flexible and something we’d be happy to discuss with the right person based on their experience, interests and availability. From time to time, there may also be opportunities for additional evening or weekend hours, but these would be occasional and entirely optional rather than a requirement.
