This includes providing technical solutions and performing modifications to electrical and instrumentation designs that enhance plant reliability.The successful candidate also supports the monitoring of the plant reliability framework, which includes identifying reliability risks that could impact the plant or business operations, and delivering reliability strategies, analysis and solutions to measure and improve plant performance.More specifically, your responsibilities will include:Provide electrical and instrumentation designs for low-risk plant modifications and upgradesReview and verify the design integrity of low-risk electrical and instrumentation equipmentSupport material selection to minimize costs and maximize facility reliability and maintainabilityProvide technical support to Maintenance and Operations during emergency changes and equipment issuesRespond to management requests related to electrical and instrumentation engineering mattersApply appropriate codes, standards, calculations, and specificationsAnalyze asset and plant reliability data to identify issues, confirm management strategies, and ensure effective use of predictive methods to isolate inherent reliability problemsUtilize the Management of Change (MOC) procedure to provide and execute engineering solutions to equipment failures and other reliability issuesApply reliability and root cause analysis tools (e.g., statistical modeling, reliability prediction, fault tree analysis, Weibull analysis)Contribute to risk assessments of equipment and systemsCollaborate across departments to evaluate asset performance and determine improvement opportunitiesDevelop, maintain, and improve systems to measure the reliability of plants, equipment, components, and processesMeasure and report on overall equipment effectiveness and other factors affecting asset reliability and costProvide asset management support to enhance plant and equipment availability and performanceApply value analysis in repair/replace, redesign, or manufacture/purchase decisions using reliability toolsWork with Technical and Project teams to ensure new or modified equipment meets reliability and maintainability requirements across its lifecycleCollaborate with Maintenance and Technical teams in developing and executing the annual department plan, ensuring alignment with the business plan and Corporate StrategyLead and/or support global and local projectsAbout YouTo qualify, you will need an undergraduate degree with a major in an engineering discipline, with registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGA, and 8+ years of related industrial experience, with at least 2 years in a reliability-related role.Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:Experience with incident investigation (e.g. Tap Root)Experience with reliability analysis/modelling6+ years’ experience in electrical and instrumentation engineeringFamiliarity with industry codes and regulations, as well as electrical and instrumentation engineering practicesDemonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office programsAs our ideal candidate, you will have excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mentality, ensuring successful interaction with internal and external stakeholders while also gaining their trust and respect.
