Assistant Operations Manager Waste Management

About the Company
Our client a prominent environmental management firm is currently seeking an Assistant Operations Manager for their office in Langley. This in-office role and offers a competitive salary of up to $130K along with benefits onsite parking collaborative work culture and more. About the Role- Oversee daily operations of waste collection transfer recycling and disposal services.
- Manage and schedule staff including drivers equipment operators and facility personnel.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental health and safety regulations.
- Maintain and optimize fleet and equipment operations including preventive maintenance.
- Respond to client inquiries complaints and service escalations.
- Prepare operational reports monitor KPIs and recommend process improvements.
- Assist with developing and managing budgets control costs and ensure operational efficiency.
- Conduct incident investigations as needed.
- Collaborate with Operations Manager to plan strategic initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
- Bachelors degree in Operations Management Environmental Science Business Administration or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in operations management preferably in waste management recycling or logistics.
- Strong knowledge of environmental and safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and operational management software.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Must have availability for early morning start times and be able to work evenings including shifts up to 7:00pm.
