Reporting to the Project Superintendent, the Field Engineer will assist the Project Team in managing daily site deliverables.
Key Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Site Operations: concrete take-off, ordering and placement, Building layout (basic knowledge of surveying principles and equipment, understanding construction documents and requirements, communicating information)
- Contract Drawings & Specifications: Interpret construction documentation as it related to contract drawings, details, sections, floor plans and specifications
- Schedule: Ability to understand construction schedules, and monitor progress
- Construction Methods & Practices: Assists the Superintendent with all filed activities as necessary including progress reporting and photos, quality control and assurance
- Health & Safety: Ability to enforce Health & Safety policies and implement procedures with a zero-tolerance attitude to ensure a safe workplace
Educational & Professional Requirements
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related engineering or construction management discipline
- Previous construction experience an asset
- Strong and effective communication skills including verbal, written and technical/computer skills
- Problem solving skills
- Positive relationship building abilities with both internal and external stakeholders
- Driver’s license and access to a vehicle is preferred
