Job type: Full time salaried with 4 day work week (working mostly days - 8am start, nights off)
Egg & Co. and Between 2 Buns are looking for a strong, hands-on Sous Chef to help lead our kitchen on Fraser Street.
Our space brings together breakfast and brunch at Egg & Co. and smash burgers at B2B. As we refresh our brunch menu, we’re looking for someone who can bring ideas to the table and deliver consistently during a busy service.
The role
You’ll work on the line, support the kitchen team and help keep both concepts running smoothly. This is a cooking and leadership position for someone who takes pride in great food, an organized kitchen and a team that works well together.
What you’ll do
- Lead by example during prep and service.
- Prepare and execute brunch dishes and smash burgers with consistency.
- Train and support cooks on recipes, portions, plating and station setup.
- Help manage ordering, inventory, prep levels and food waste.
- Maintain food safety, cleanliness and equipment care.
- Coordinate with the front-of-house team to keep service moving.
- Contribute to new brunch items, specials and kitchen improvements.
What we’re looking for
- Experience as a sous chef, lead cook or strong senior line cook ready to step up.
- Confidence working a busy line; breakfast, brunch and flat-top experience are strong assets.
- Someone who can organize prep, prioritize tickets and stay composed under pressure.
- A dependable teammate who communicates clearly and treats people respectfully.
- Care for food quality, portion control and a clean workstation.
- Availability for shifts across brunch and evening service, including weekends.
- FOODSAFE certification or willingness to obtain it.
