Senior Accounts Receivable Clerk

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide support to a team of Accounts Receivable Clerks, including:
  • Assisting in establishing credit terms for customer accounts
  • Invoice escalations and revisions
  • Collections escalations
  • Appropriately assigning new customers to each clerk
• Various reconciliations, including:
  • Missing payments
  • Monthly EDC declarations
  • Ensuring our Accounting system limits match our A/R insurance portal
• Analyze customer information:
  • Ensuring customer credit limits are at appropriate levels
  • Customer spend changes
  • Customer survey results
• Assist in the development of a new customer package
• Review internal processes within the Accounts Receivable function and implement improvements as necessary
• Back-up for critical Accounts Receivable Clerk tasks (invoicing, collections, applying customer payments, month end reconciliations, etc.)
• Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a finance or accounting role, specifically in one or more of the following Accounts Receivable areas:
  • Generating invoices
  • Establishing credit terms for customer accounts
  • Customer collections
• High school diploma, or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of various financial systems and tools, with the ability to adapt to different technologies and changing processes
• Excellent time management and organization skills to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all aspects of their work
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the capacity to identify issues, investigate discrepancies and propose solutions
• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, adept at fostering positive relationships with all levels of internal and external stakeholders through effective communication and active listening
• The ability to work well in a team-based environment through effective collaboration, sharing of ideas, and contributing to a positive team culture
• Proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement in financial processes, systems, and overall efficiency
• Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office applications for tasks such as spreadsheet analysis (Excel), document creation (Word), and email communication (Outlook).
• Willingness to travel for job-related purposes, as needed.

**Additional consideration will be given to those having any of the following:

• Diploma, degree, or enrollment in post-secondary education in either Accounting or Business
• Previous experience with NetSuite, EDC, D&B or customer invoice portals
• Familiarity with credit management and credit control processes
• Previous experience in assisting team members with customer escalations

Other Information

• This is a full-time position (Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm)
• Location is open to candidates who can travel to one of our offices in either Ile des Chenes, Manitoba or Burlington, Ontario.
