Restaurant Server

The Cliff House Restaurant is our dining venue overlooking the Canyon Lookout. We offer guests great views of the surrounding rainforest, a large indoor/outdoor fireplace, and our West Coast classics inspired menu. The Restaurant Server is part of the Food and Beverage team, responsible for contributing to a positive experience guest experience in the restaurant. Main duties include, but are not limited to, a la carte dining service, cleanliness and organization of the restaurant, proper food handling procedures, up selling, following opening and closing procedures and providing a seamless Guest experience.

What You'll Do

• Responsible for full table service (order taking, food running and bussing tables)
• Prepare and deliver all food and beverages in a timely manner, follow wine service steps as
• needed
• Ensure quality assurance checks are completed in a timely manner
• Anticipate Guests’ needs and search for ways to increase Guest satisfaction
• Efficiently operate restaurant POS and complete cash-out at end of shift
• Maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment
• Follow all HAACP and Food Safe requirements
• Follow all procedures outlined in the Team Member Handbook
• Be knowledgeable and promote the Capilano Group of Companies
• Promote a safe work environment paying particular attention to food and beverage safety
• Take reasonable care to protect your own, co-workers and Guest’s health and safety
• Be alert to hazards and immediately report any concerns of yours or our guests to your
• supervisor
• Ensure your ability to work without risk to your health and safety or any other person’s safety is not impaired, by alcohol, drugs or other causes

Qualifications

• One (1) year of serving or hosting experience
• Must have Food Safe Level 1 certification
• Must have current Serving It Right certificate
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task
• Positive attitude and a strong desire to provide experiences Guests are amazed by
• Strong communication skills, multilingual is considered an asset

Considerations
Ideal candidates must be available to work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. These roles do require being able to stand for extended periods of time and being able lift up to 20lbs. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task during peak service. Ability to work in varied weather conditions such as heat and rain.

Starting wage for this role is $18.25 per hour plus gratuities. This is a seasonal, casual contract.
