We’re looking for a Full-Time Evening News Producer . This person will be a newsroom leader, taking initiative to shape and strengthen the CityNews brand. This is a leadership role within our news operation, ensuring our content engages and builds our audience on the Alberta 24/7 streaming platform and daily news programs. You are well-informed of the news cycle in Calgary, along with the rest of Alberta. The position is an evening weekday role.

What You Will Do

• Lead our evening coverage on 24/7 and CityNews Calgary.
• Oversee the Alberta 24/7 stream, ensuring aired content is relevant and the latest.
• Keep track of breaking news locally, nationally and internationally.
• Write content and vet stories.
• Bring the daily news program to air.
• Collaborate with Supervising Producer for show and stream needs/requirements.
• Assign news stories when needed
• Locate visuals/materials needed to tell story
• Support and communicate with field teams (VJs, ENG)
• Contribute to /help generate story ideas and pitches
• Provide support during special events (e.g elections, referendums)
