**Jefferies Canada** is the Canadian investment banking and capital markets division of Jefferies Financial Group Inc., a leading global investment banking and financial services firm. We're looking for a **Systems Administrator** to help maintain, secure, and optimize our enterprise IT infrastructure. In this role, you'll work closely with cloud, network, cybersecurity, and application teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of technology platforms that support our fast-paced financial services business.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Install, configure, monitor, and maintain Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms, and enterprise infrastructure.
* Manage Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, and identity management.
* Administer Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, collaboration platforms, and enterprise productivity tools.
* Monitor system performance, availability, and security while troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
* Support virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V, and assist with cloud infrastructure in AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
* Implement system upgrades, security patches, backup solutions, disaster recovery processes, and endpoint management.
* Automate routine administrative tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting tools.
* Collaborate with cybersecurity, networking, and application teams on infrastructure projects and system improvements.
* Maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and operational procedures.
* Ensure systems comply with internal IT policies, cybersecurity standards, and financial industry regulations.
**What You'll Bring**
**Required**
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Administration, or a related field.
* 3+ years of experience in systems administration or enterprise infrastructure support.
* Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, virtualization, and enterprise storage technologies.
* Experience with networking fundamentals, server administration, backup solutions, and infrastructure monitoring.
* Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
**Preferred**
* Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
* Familiarity with VMware, Hyper-V, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID, Citrix, or PowerShell automation.
* Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Datadog, or Splunk.
* Knowledge of ITIL, disaster recovery, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance within financial services.
* Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified, VMware VCP, CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or ITIL Foundation are considered an asset.
