Lifeguards ensure the safety of swimmers by monitoring aquatic activities, enforcing rules, and providing emergency response. Tasks include rescue efforts, first aid application, and maintaining clean, secure environments.
Responsibilities:
- Lifeguard Enforce safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents in the pool area
- Lifeguard Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services
- Lifeguard Monitor activities in the pool area to prevent accidents and to provide assistance to swimmers in distress
- Lifeguard Maintain a clean and safe pool environment by performing routine maintenance and cleaning tasks
- Lifeguard Attend regular training sessions to maintain knowledge of emergency procedures, first aid techniques, and safety protocols
- Lifeguard Assist with swim lessons and other pool-related programs as needed
- Lifeguard Interact with patrons in a friendly and helpful manner, answering questions and providing information as needed
- Lifeguard Complete incident reports and other documentation as required by management or local authorities
Requirements:
- Must have a valid lifeguard certification from a recognized agency
- Must be able to swim proficiently and endure long hours in the water
- Must be physically fit and able to perform rescues and administer first aid if necessary
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with pool patrons and other staff members
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Must adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols
- Must be able to maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Must be able to attend regular training sessions and stay up to date on lifeguarding techniques and procedures
