Seal Welder
Hourly rate: $37.96 – fully qualified (starts at Learner 1: $32.26/hr; We have opportunities for you to join our production team as a Seal Welder at our facility in Cambridge, Ontario . Each member of our team plays a critical role in BWXT Canada’s success and in ensuring we meet our customers’ quality, cost and delivery expectations. To set up and operate seal welding equipment to perform tube to tube sheet welding; assist Fitters when not Seal Welding.

Receive prints and procedures, set up welding machine using gauges to position electrodes and welding wire onto practice test block, assist Fitters are required.

• Position welding machine over tube to be welded in the test block; adjust argon gas control, voltage and amperage meters to pre-established settings, making adjustments as required.
• Perform fillet and fusion welders per WPS’.
• Send test blocks to Quality Control for inspection approval; proceed to carry out tube to tube sheet welding as listed in the above procedure.
• Clean tube welds with a wire brush and a lint free rag; Prepare test block for repair welds and submits to Q.prepare tubes for repair by machining, cleaning, welding; set up machine and weld for repair using same procedure as welding tube to tube sheet.
• Assist Fitter when not Seal Welding.
• Perform General Helper duties when not Seal Welding such as cleaning of steam generator components and assemblers. Keep immediate work area in a clean condition and orderly condition; Strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings, and:

Successful completion of a metal fabrication (fitting, welding) program
Proficiency in fitting techniques, with the ability to assemble and align components accurately, considered an asset.
Note – applicants will be required to pass pre-employment testing related to this role.

Weekdays (Mon-Thurs)
Nights: 4:00 pm. – Weekends (Fri, Sat, Sun – 33 hrs paid 40 hrs)

The pay range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) is expected to be between $32.26 and $37.96 per hour.
