Distribution manager - logistics

Reporting to the Distribution Manager this position is an active participant in the Manitoba/NWON distribution team and will provide confidential support for the team and be responsible for a range of duties.

Responsible for analyzing and supervising all aspects of the distribution operations in an efficient and effective manner.
Achieve the Distribution & Logistics mandate the continued pursuit of reducing the cost to land all ordered product at the Customers F.Maintain current knowledge of operational systems including but not limited to Transport DSD and Contracted Distributor Operations;
Assist in establish an annual operating budget for the Distribution department.
Effective management of company assets;
Participate in the contract renewal process with your Contracted Distributors;
Understand and apply company policies and procedures in a firm fair and consistent manner;
Hold employees accountable for complying with all facility Health & Safety requirements and provincial regulations. Unsafe acts and conditions must be immediately addressed.
Advise workers of the existence of any potential or Health & Safety risks;
Ensure that all employees including temporary workers and contractors adhere to safety requirements including the use of personal protective equipment.
Post-secondary education in operations management business transportation or warehousing preferred.

• Thorough knowledge of shipping operations management business transportation or warehousing.
• 4 years of progressively responsible experience in facility or warehouse operations are preferred.
• Knowledge and experience of SAP is an asset.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages and in particular Excel
• Knowledge and experience of the Dairy Industry is an asset.
• Knowledge and experience of applicable regulations health and safety public safety and security administration and management transportation principles and methods change management principles and methods personnel and human resources labor relations financials customer and personal service English language other languages as required and production and processing.
