Assessment District Manager
Watson Lake Designated Office
Full-time, 1-year term position, working 75 hours bi-weekly

The Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Board (YESAB) is an independent body established under the Umbrella Final Agreement and YESAA legislation in 2003. YESAB conducts environmental and socio-economic assessments of projects before they are approved by the governing body.
Our purpose is to conduct neutral assessments in the Yukon that contribute to protecting the environment and social, economic, and cultural well-being of First Nations and residents.

An undergraduate degree and/or post-secondary training in environmental science, social science or a similar field of study is preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
General knowledge of the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act , as well as Yukon First Nations and First Nations Agreements, is required.
Experience managing complex projects is required.
Experience working in a First Nation government is considered an asset.
The Assessment District Manager , reporting to the Assessment Director, will be a part of the Watson Lake Designated Office, as well as YESAB’s management team. The Assessment District Manager is responsible for:
Managing and supporting all projects assessed in the Watson Lake Assessment District.
Managing the operations of the Designated Office and providing support, guidance, and supervision to staff.
