What is the project?

The Pickering Nuclear Generating Station refurbishment program involves designing and building a new deep-water intake in Lake Ontario to improve the plant's cooling system. A 1.5 km-long tunnel, built by a pressurized TBM (10.15 m diameter slurry TBM);

• Two vertical shafts (onshore and offshore);
• An offshore modular intake structure, resting on the lake bed.

The project is distinguished by its proximity to an active nuclear site, requiring rigorous standards of safety, planning and coordination.

The Draftsman will be responsible for preparing technical drawings and plans used in construction projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance with regulations, and alignment with project specifications.

Collaborate with engineers, and project managers to understand project requirements

Draw site installations with logistics and liftings operations

Temporary works drawings with formwork

Ensure drawings are accurate and correspond to project requirements

Revise drawings based on feedback and changes in project scope

Use CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) to produce high-quality plans

Civil works, TBM and SEM tunnelling sequences and interfaces

Prepare drawings/inputs for civil works including the sequence of casting and reinforcement design basis

Excavation sequence with secant piles, soldier piles, tension piles, rock anchors, struts and walers

Diploma or degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.

• 6 years of experience with AutoCAD and Revit
