Full-Time Late Night Cook

Thompson Construction Group has an immediate opening for a Night Shift Breakfast Cook in their Fort McMurray area of operation.

Responsibilities:

Promote safety awareness by ensuring compliance of corporate health and safety policies

Ensure all food preparation and portioning are completed prior to cooking

Ability to use a variety of cooking methods to prepare top quality food including deep-frying, pan-frying, broiling, baking, boiling, grilling, sautéing, steaming, etc.

Operate all kinds of commercial and non-commercial kitchen equipment

Wash, slice, peel and cut meat, seafood, fruits and vegetables

Prepare sauces from scratch or using pre-mixed products

Season and marinate meats and other food items

Assist in menu planning

Assist in inventory counts

Assist grocery orders

Assist in unloading, loading and placing groceries and supplies

Clean and sanitize designated kitchen areas

Ensure health and safety regulations and quality standards are met

Qualifications:

• Red Seal Certification
• Advanced Food Safe Certification
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a cook in remote camps
• Ability to work full-time night shifts independently as well as part of a team
• Strong leadership skills
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Valid driver’s license
• Standard First Aid certification
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to work in the Ft McMurray area and work a rotational schedule
• 20 days on 10 days off
• First 10 days will be preparing, making and assisting all meals
• Last 10 days will be dining room and kitchen cleaning, organizing, and dish clean up
• Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned
• Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test
