Performing routine and specialized test procedures in Chemistry, Hematology and Blood Bank; performing pre-analytical procedures including phlebotomy, specimen management and ECGs; organizing workflow to maintain performance standards of quantity and quality; observing, troubleshooting and reporting problems with methods, equipment to Lab Supervisor; ensuring cleanliness of equipment and immediate work area; following established safety and infection control procedures; participating in student/staff training programs, as required; Certification with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Sciences (CSMLS);
Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO);
Current theoretical and technical knowledge in Hematology, Blood Transfusion and Biochemistry;
Proven in-depth knowledge of techniques, principles and instruments and their interrelationships;
Experience and technical knowledge of the electronic and/or mechanical equipment necessary to perform routine and specialized testing;
Physically capable of performing bending, lifting, turning frequently throughout the shift to accomplish tasks;
Recent experience in a Core Laboratory, preferred;
Must have a satisfactory performance record;
