Swim Instructor (Part Time)

LEARN TO SWIM INSTRUCTOR, TEMPORARY, PART-TIME Position Type: Temporary Part Time
Community Services Department - Recreation Division
Location: Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre (265 Cannifton Road, Belleville, ON)
Hours: Varied with availability for weekday, weeknight and/or weekend shifts
Salary: $19.99 - $21.90 per hour
This position is responsible for teaching and evaluating the Lifesaving Society’s Swim for Life Programs, for all assigned ages and levels. Program locations are at the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre and the Kinsmen Community Outdoor Pools.
Be responsible for the safety and supervision of the participants and ensure the rules and regulations set out by the Department and/or outside organizations, are followed
Be knowledgeable of City Programs and have strong public relation skills
Attend all aquatic staff training and meetings as scheduled
Maintain a tidy and clean facility
Enforce all pool and facility rules
Perform other related duties as required by the Recreation, Culture & Community Services Department
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check ("CRC") with Vulnerable Sector Check ("VSC") prior to commencing work in this role
Lifesaving Society Bronze Cross or National Lifeguard Award
Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Award
Previous customer service experience is an asset
Previous experience working with children is an asset
Previous experience in lifeguarding would be an asset
