Reports to: General Manager of Saskatchewan and General Manager of Manitoba

Travel: Travel to Winnipeg, Manitoba office, one week every two months

We're seeking a HR Business Partner to support our operations in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, with a mix of day‑to‑day HR delivery and strategic involvement. As HRBP, you'll have an opportunity to partner with operational leaders across two diverse operational regions within Black & McDonald; coach supervisors and managers, lead investigations, drive engagement, deliver strategic HR Programs, along with the other HR responsibilities that keep the lights on (HR administration, employee questions, letters, onboarding/offboarding etc.).

Business partnering & employee relations

Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and supervisors on performance, coaching, organizational changes, and conflict resolution; lead workplace investigations and facilitate corrective outcomes, coordinating with Corporate People Resources as needed.

Guide managers through progressive discipline, termination planning, and documentation in accordance with company policy and applicable legislation.

Talent acquisition & development

Own full‑cycle recruitment for designated roles (intake, postings, screening, interviews, selection and offers); Expectation would be recruitment for 3-6 jobs at any given time.

Support individualized development planning, succession insights, and targeted development for high‑potential talent.

Coordinate the annual employee engagement survey, focus groups, action plans, and follow‑through on commitments; enable local engagement initiatives and recognition programs.

Facilitate HR updates at regional meetings as needed.

HR operations

Communicate and train on performance management processes (goal setting, feedback, reviews).

HRIS transactions and data integrity; letters (offers, changes, discipline), file management, onboarding/offboarding tasks, benefits enrollments/changes/business correspondence.

Compliance & risk

Support on more complex leave/absence administration in line with policy and insurer requirements (e.g., 7–10+ years progressive HR experience; experience in unionized environments considered an asset

• Strong track record in employee relations and workplace investigations.
• Demonstrated ability to be both strategic and hands‑on, self‑sufficient with HR admin and HRIS.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); HRIS experience an asset.
• Post‑secondary education in HR/Business (CHRP/CHRL an asset).
• Excellent communication, relationship‑building, prioritization, and change agility in a fast‑paced, matrixed setting.

Travel to Winnipeg, Manitoba office required for one week, every two months
