Since 1997, the Winspear Centre has been a cornerstone of Edmonton's Arts District, welcoming 250,000 visitors annually for musical performances, rehearsals, literary events, meetings, receptions, graduations, and educational programs. Currently, we are expanding the Winspear Centre with a new second performance hall, classrooms, and mixed-use immersive spaces. We operate year-round, with flexible schedules that typically include evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the role and business needs. Reporting to the Chief Financial and Operating Officer, the Director of Finance is responsible to ensure financial integrity and viability of the organization and to ensure organizational assets are maintained and protected.
Prepare annual operating and capital budgets and forecasts, and monitor financial health and performance
Provide accurate annual, quarterly, monthly and ‘ad hoc' financial information and reports in accordance with accepted accounting standards
Conduct financial analysis of internal activities to assist management by providing insight into decision making
Coordinate meetings with management to review financial performance against budget or forecasts
Monitor and report on investment performance
Oversee vendor management and relationships, including facility vendors
Undergraduate Degree specializing in Finance
Minimum 5 years' experience in senior financial management preferably in a nonprofit organization
Knowledge of best practices for financial processes and policies; familiar with not-for-profit accounting guidelines
A clear criminal record check
