Part-Time Retail Clerk

Discovery Co-operative is hiring a Part-Time Diner Clerk I in our Food Department for our Diner located in North Battleford, SK.

Discovery Co-operative Ltd. has over 350 employees serving over 18,000 members in the Battlefords and surrounding communities through the provision of goods and services in the areas of grocery, food, liquor, pharmacy, petroleum and lubricants, home and building solutions, general merchandise and leisure, and agricultural supplies including fertilizer. Provide safe, courteous, efficient and customer-focused service in our Diner.
Prepare food and beverage menu items in accordance with established specifications, standards, and procedures, including the safe handling of raw and cooked foods.
Accurately measure, combine, and prepare products using knives, kitchen tools, and food service equipment such as deep fryers, ovens, flat griddles, burners, soft‑serve machines, coffee machines, drink mixers, hot dog rollers, freezers, and coolers.
Ensure all orders are prepared and served according to established portion standards.
Follow all food safety and sanitation requirements, including proper use and frequent changing of protective gloves.
Remove and discard products that do not meet quality standards and accurately record required equipment and product temperatures, as applicable.
Perform duties and responsibilities of a cashier and also ensure an accurate cash balance is achieved at the end of each shift
Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.

You are looking for a career in Retail and:

• 1–2 years of food preparation experience; Co‑operative retail experience is considered an asset.
• Willing and able to obtain a Safe Food Handling Certificate and Serve It Right Certificate upon hire.
• Comfortable working with a variety of food service equipment, including fryers, griddles, knives, and step ladders.
• Can work safely in environments involving high temperatures associated with food preparation.
