Risk Analyst, AML and Compliance

We are seeking a detail-oriented Risk Analyst II to join our Global Anti-Money Laundering (GAML) Operations team. You will conduct deep-dive analysis into transactional activity, ensuring the organization remains compliant with global regulations and internal risk appetites.
This position offers an intensive training program and a collaborative team environment, making it an ideal role for an analytical professional looking to deepen their expertise in Financial Crime Risk Management (FCRM).

Location: Markham, ON (Hybrid - 2 days onsite, 3 days remote)
Duration: 1-year contract (Potential for extension or conversion based on performance)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week (Core business hours)

Conduct thorough analysis of transactional activity to identify risks, trends, and potential suspicious activity; Risk Management: Protect the organization’s interests by identifying non-standard or high-risk transactions and ensuring they are managed according to regulatory guidelines.
Serve as a technical resource for AML/ATF and sanctions-related matters, providing operational support and process guidance.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and support the implementation of new workflows or applications.
Compliance: Run and review data against various watchlists and guidelines to ensure accuracy and flag deviations immediately.
Collaboration: Participate in weekly team meetings and maintain a positive, risk-aware culture within a team of 10–15 professionals.
Undergraduate degree preferred.
Experience: 2+ years of professional experience as a Risk Analyst or in a similar investigative role.
Industry Knowledge: Fundamental understanding of AML operations, standards, procedures, and relevant financial laws/regulations.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience navigating complex computer applications/databases.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to research, organize, and prioritize high volumes of data while meeting strict deadlines.
Certifications (Asset): CAMS or ACFCS certifications are highly desirable.
