We’re building a relationship-oriented bank for the modern world. The Compliance and EAML Examinations Program (CEEP) is a global examinations team, that carries out Regulatory Compliance and ML/TF & Sanctions Examinations of LOBs and functional groups. GMPS is responsible for supporting the EAML and Compliance Examination teams through the development, implementation, maintenance and governance of the examination program, tools/templates, annual examination schedule, training and management reporting.
The Manager, Deficiency Validation Center of Competency (DVCC) is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities related to the validation and remediation of regulatory compliance and EAML deficiencies across CEEP Examination Portfolios. This role ensures that deficiencies identified by CEEP are remediated effectively, thereby strengthening CIBC’s regulatory compliance and EAML control environment. Through rigorous review of management’s remediation activities, DVCC validates that compliance with regulatory requirements and CIBC policies are restored and sustained. As the Manager, you will collaborate closely with business units to ensure that remediation action plans are robust and sustainable. You will actively contribute to the continuous improvement of deficiency management processes and support the Senior Manager and Director, Deficiency Validation, in achieving operational objectives.
You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
Technical Expertise: In-dept knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, procedures and operational processes. Additionally, you have demonstrated strong understanding of risk management and controls – design adequacy and operating effectiveness assessment, root cause analysis (5-why’s), evaluation of control sustainability, risk exposure evaluation – impact and likelihood assessment.

You will communicate regularly on progress and issues to ensure timely exaction of teams deliverables and at a high level of quality and compliance with CEEP methodology and procedures.
