Bantrel has an exciting opportunity for Civil/Structural Engineering students to support our Energy Team this summer. You will support Energy related projects from the Edmonton office. The Structural Engineering Summer Student will perform assignments that will develop professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Using prescribed methods, perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment under the direction of an experienced engineer.

Working on problems and gaining experience relevant to your field of study in an office or field environment.

Leveraging the latest technology trends in the development of novel tools and processes for improving engineering productivity.

Participate in local Lunch and Learn sessions, and more to develop your skills.

Join in charitable, social, and other activities with other employees.

Develop simple structural analysis models using STAAD.Pro, or S-Frame.

Develop simple structural steel, foundations and piling calculations for buildings, pipe racks, equipment structures using Excel.

Make basic decisions/planning concerning day-to-day engineering calculation and analysis.

Receive technical supervision from an engineering supervisor on all the above tasks.

Good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projects.

Shows critical and creative thinking and problem solving and brings forward solutions.

Must be enrolled in an engineering program at an accredited university. Preference will be given to Civil/Structural, Engineering programs.

You will have completed 3 years of your engineering program by April 2026.

Excel academically while being actively involved in extra-curricular and/or volunteer activities at school or in the community.

Interest in engineering design and complex projects.

Previous work experience will be considered an asset.

Technical experience with design calculations, modeling tools and software, ability to use data-centric design tools, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Our culture is guided by our Mission and Values , these shape how we treat one another, our Clients, and how we achieve excellence.
