Title: Electrician
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor/Manager
Job Purpose: The Electrician will play a crucial role in supporting the team by ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all electrical systems, machinery, and automated processes within our highly technical fabrication facility. By applying their expertise, the Electrician will contribute by troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing complex electrical systems, including advanced CNC machinery, PLC-controlled equipment, robotics, and other automated systems critical to our manufacturing environment.
Schedule electrical work around production schedules, so that power interruptions are kept to a minimum.
Assist with the installation of new wiring. New wiring installations must comply with the Electrical Safety Code & be inspected by the Electrical Safety Authority; Meet with various WSL personnel to access & accommodate their electrical requirements.
Troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery / determine the root cause of the failure using prints and testing with meters & instruments / correct machine failure. Review electrical schematics / use information to trace or complete electrical installation.
Label machinery & equipment with relevant electrical ratings & sources of power.
Utilize manuals, internet & phone contacts to gain knowledge of equipment, for making repairs. Finding alternate sources for repair & replacement items.
Research materials required for building, maintaining & repairing equipment. Order electrical supplies and keep stock levels to make the necessary repairs.
Accumulate manuals, wiring diagrams & drawings for equipment; Make plans for upgrade or replacement.
Co-ordinate electrical contractor quotes. Provide guidance to contractors once a job has been accepted.
Adhere to Company's health & safety policies; High School Diploma/GED, College (Trade School), and on-the-job training.

• 5 year's relevant experience in a highly technical or automated manufacturing environment.
• Red Seal or Journeyman Certification (309A or 442A); additional certifications in PLC programming, automation, robotics, or CNC maintenance an asset.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
• Program Logic Control (PLC) operation & associated software.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems for tracking work orders and maintenance activities.
• Proficient in English, with strong reading, writing, and speaking skills.
• Exposure to a manufacturing environment with potential hazards such as noise, moving machinery, and industrial chemicals.
• Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required to meet productions schedules and to support a three-shift operation.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, interpreting blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
Working experience with advanced fabrication equipment, including CNC machinery, robotics, and PLC-controlled systems an asset.
Proficiency in using electrical testing and diagnostic tools.
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
