Medical Radiation Technologist - Part-Time

The position is in General Radiography and is responsible for providing and performing the highest quality service possible, to the clients of Diagnostic Imaging Services. This is done in an effective, efficient, and safe manner. As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging team this position is responsible for working all shifts, as assigned. As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) I, you will perform a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You will interpret physician requisitions, prepare and assess patients for examination and produce high quality diagnostic images for Physician/Radiologist review, and assist with the care and maintenance of equipment. Your work may include a variety of procedures such as general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations, as well as fluoroscopy where required.

Required Qualifications
Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Previous experiences in appropriate imaging modality. General knowledge of computers. Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as in a successful team. Show initiative, good judgment, and concern for detail and accuracy. Demonstrate tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, staff, and physicians. Ability to work under pressure and in emergencies.
