SALARY: $21.00 per hour plus vacation pay
The Reservation Agent is responsible for efficiently managing booking requests providing information on ferry schedules routes and pricing for the Chi-Cheemaun ferry between Tobermory and Manitoulin Island. They are also responsible for assisting customers with reservations cancellations and modifications to existing reservations.
We seek to fill ten (10) Seasonal Reservation Agent positions. The positions will vary in duration from up to nine (9) months to four (4) and two (2) month positions which are open to University/College and High School students and are designed to accommodate student schedules. These positions are open to all applicants. For student applicants please indicate your availability for starting full-time hours and weekends.
The primary job duties and responsibilities for the Seasonal Reservation Agent include but are not limited to the following:
Customer relation activities including but not limited to answering phones emails and in-person inquiries.
Answer inquiries regarding the policies and procedures for the carriage of dangerous goods.
Reporting any non conformance issues to management of any issues that may deviate from established policies or procedures.
Identifying all freight and informing the receiving terminal.
Informing all customers of events or cancellations and arranging all rescheduling and refunds.
Assist customers in a friendly and professional manner both in person and over the phone providing helpful information about local tourism attractions events and activities.
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION KNOWLEDGE WORK EXPERIENCE and SKILLS
High school diploma or GED certificate current high school students may apply for summer seasonal positions.
Customer-service experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Experience with reservation systems an asset.
Two or more years of successful performance in customer service in a telephone-based environment as well as in person is preferred.
accurate data entry; Must be able to speak read write and understand English. A second language is preferred.
Must have good hand-eye coordination and ability to type on a computer keyboard.
Competitive hourly rate; entry level rate ranges from $18 to $21/hour
