The Department of Finance and Treasury Board's Office of the Chief Information Officer has a career opportunity for a Cloud Technology Strategist to contribute to transformation projects under the Digital NB strategy. The successful candidate, reporting to the Digital Transformation Team Lead, will be responsible for the following:

Offer leadership, insight, and direction for the integration of innovative, sustainable cloud solutions and web development solutions.

Define technical design parameters with next-gen technology that aligns with user experience design to deliver high-quality, accessible, and user-friendly applications.

Coach, mentor, and train colleagues to ensure in-house support teams are equipped with the necessary troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills to handle issues concerning the cloud/web solution.

Share information, promote cutting-edge design principles, and participate in forums as a member of relevant technical associations and groups.

Strategic Development/Planning:

Architect, design and develop cloud-based and web applications, considering and addressing privacy, security, and sustainability needs throughout the design and implementation phases.

Participate in strategic planning activities, including planning and prioritizing digital transformation projects.

Ensure all development work complies with industry standards, best practices, and is in line with GNB Acts, regulations, standards, and policies.

Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient deployment of applications and solutions using cloud technologies.

Technical Expertise:

Understand and explain complex cloud-native technologies to offer high-level and in-depth subject matter expertise in areas of cloud-native and mobile application development.

Act as a subject matter expert to consult on new transformational projects from the Digital NB strategy - following the Digital Transformation Teams Design Thinking methodology, advise on cloud solution architecture, design, build, and implementation.

Bachelor's degree in computer science (or related discipline).

Minimum of 2 years of experience with cloud application development concepts such as Agile, Scrum methodologies, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), and Cloud-Native solutions within complex environments.

Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in cloud application development and web development such as: microservices, DevOps, serverless architectures, and APIs.

HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript; Web Frameworks (such as Bootstrap, React, Node.js, Angular.js, Vue.js, Spring Boot);

Experience with full stack development building cloud-native applications, cloud technologies, back-end development, and databases.

A 2-year college diploma in Computer Science (or related discipline).

Minimum of 7 years of progressive IT work experience including:

Minimum of 3 years of experience with cloud application development concepts such as Agile, Scrum methodologies, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), and Cloud-Native solutions within complex environments.

Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in cloud application development and web development such as: microservices, DevOps, serverless architectures, and APIs.

HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript; Web Frameworks (such as Bootstrap, React, Node.js, Angular.js, Vue.js, Spring Boot)

Experience with full-stack development building cloud-native applications, cloud technologies, back-end development, and databases.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that possess one or more of the following asset qualifications:

Experience with Docker Containers, AWS, S3, EC2, CloudWatch, RDS, SES, Azure, Data lakes, Java, Python, PHP, Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server.

Cloud Developer Certification (such as AWS Developer - Associate, Azure Developer, Google Cloud Developer, DevOps Engineer etc.)

Client Service Orientation, Effective Interactive Communication, Relationship/ Network Building, Results Orientation, Teamwork and Cooperation, and Strategic Thinking.
