Bookkeeping or Accounting Assistant

We design, manufacture and supply best-in-class commercial ovens, ranges, grills and countertop cooking equipment for the global foodservice market. Garland Commercial Ranges is looking for an Accounting Assistant III on a full-time permanent basis!

Under broad supervision, the Accounting Assistant III provides accounting clerical support in functional areas of the Finance department. This individual performs moderately complex to complex accounting activities such as maintenance and auditing of the general ledger, preparation of detailed accounting statements and financial reports. Accountant III, this position is 100% based in-office at our Mississauga, Ontario facility.

This is a full-time, temporary role that is a 6-month contract, with potential to become full-time, permanent!

Provides a broad range of accounting clerical support.
Performs non-routine and more complex bookkeeping and accounting tasks.
Maintains general ledger, prepares detailed accounting statements and financial reports.
Provides advanced clerical support across accounting functions.

Maintains the general ledger; Prepares accounting statements and financial reports.
ensures document processing within the appropriate accounting period.
Posts journal or voucher entries, reconciles accounts and bank statements, and checks claims, bills, invoices, and vouchers.
Closes subsidiary ledgers.
May follow up on delinquent accounts, as needed.
Analyzes and verifies internal consistency, completeness and accuracy of account documents; Demonstrated broad knowledge bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Excellent development and presentation spreadsheets and other software tools.
Heavy computer use.
