We are recruiting for Storekeepers who enjoy hands-on inventory and warehouse work supporting City departments and the Stores team. The successful incumbents will be detail oriented, effective communicators and provide excellent customer service to both internal customers and external vendors. Based within the Procurement Division of the Finance & Legal Department, the Storekeeper position consists of the following duties:
Receiving, inspecting, storing and issuing of inventory materials
Picking and staging inventory items to fulfill customer and departmental requests
Maintaining accurate inventory records and processing daily transactions using computerized inventory systems
Loading, unloading and delivery of inventory items to civic facilities

A creative and collaborative approach to assisting City departments with their inventory requirements, including picking and staging items, assisting with inventory requests and maintaining organized and safe storage areas are an important function of this position.
Storekeepers exercise judgement in carrying out their day-to-day duties under supervision in accordance with established procedures, with direction and support provided by the Stores Supervisor.
Sound knowledge of the various types and uses of supplies, tools and equipment used in municipal operations.
Ability to issue and receive supplies and to perform related clerical recordkeeping tasks manually or using a computer terminal.
Ability to operate forklift.
Ability to perform routine clerical tasks related to the work and to do so under minimal supervision.
Ability to operate common office equipment.
Counterbalanced / Vertical Mast Forklift Operator Certification.

Knowledge of City facilities and facilities inventory requirements.
Training in inventory control methods, inventory operations and principles, computer usage, and some related municipal Stores experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

This CUPE position has an hourly rate range of $30.51 - $35.84 (2025 rates).
