As an Administrative Assistant you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the scheduling, dispatching and maintaining of depot trailer switches / depot supply shipments in accordance with SARCAN Procedures.
  • Coordinating trailer switches with drivers and transport companies.
  • Inputting data, submitting reports and maintaining statistical spreadsheets as required.
  • Performing general office duties.
  • Providing back up to the Office Administrator position in their absence.
  • Becoming the biggest recycling expert among all of your family and friends

To be successful as an Administrative Assistant at SARCAN, you will need to:

  • Have the ability to do physical work.
  • Have previous experience working in an office environment.
  • One-year office experience, post-secondary office administration certificate is an asset.
  • Exhibit strong oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, organizational and administrative skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 is required; comfortable learning new technical systems as needed.
  • Exhibit a strong degree of professionalism, while remaining highly personable and approachable in the company of people of all abilities, cultures, and backgrounds
  • Have the ability to work independently.
  • Provide a satisfactory criminal record as a condition of employment.
  • Have flexibility with changes to priorities and deadlines.
