UX/UI Designer with User Design Experience

Robots & Pencils is an applied AI engineering firm building the next frontier of business architecture. We design and ship AI co-workers that integrate into enterprise operations and deliver measurable results for our clients. We're all in on AWS, combining deep UX capability with senior engineering talent to get AI into production fast and keep it there.

We’ve earned the trust of leaders across Consumer Products and Retail, Education, Energy, Financial Services, Healthcare, and Manufacturing and more, and earned a reputation as the nimble alternative to traditional global systems integrators. Founded in 2009, with delivery centers in Canada, the United States, Eastern Europe, and Latin America, we are smaller, faster, and more senior by design. We move fast, sweat the details, and build things that actually ship.

We’re looking for a UX/UI Designer to design thoughtful, high-quality digital experiences across a range of client engagements. You’ll be joining real, in-flight work where quality and delivery speed matter, collaborating with experienced designers and growing the instincts that come from shipping things that matter.

At Robots & Pencils, we design AI systems for a human world. Robots and pencils means engineering paired with creativity, because every agent we ship has to work for real people in real workflows. Here, you shape how AI systems integrate into enterprise operations, how teams move at real velocity, and how products create measurable impact for clients and the people they serve. We ship production-ready AI in 30 to 45 days. Design end-to-end UX/UI deliverables from early exploration and concepting through high-fidelity execution

Create wireframes, prototypes, and polished interface designs that balance usability, business goals, and technical constraints

Build, evolve, and maintain design systems that support consistency, scalability, and flexibility across products

Conduct UX research activities including usability testing and user interviews to inform design decisions

Use Figma confidently for design, prototyping, documentation, and collaboration

Bring an AI-forward mindset to your design work, using tools like Figma AI and Claude to improve efficiency, creativity, and design quality

Participate in agile workflows and balance multiple projects, clients, and industries while maintaining a high bar for craft

Take ownership of design work end-to-end and follow through with craft and consistency

Contribute to internal initiatives such as marketing, pitches, and the evolution of the design practice

Stay curious and keep growing — bring new ideas, experiment often, and embrace continuous improvement

2+ years of professional experience as a UX/UI Designer working on digital products or platforms

• Strong hands-on design skills with deep proficiency in Figma
• Experience building and maintaining design systems in real-world product environments
• Working knowledge of UX research methods including usability testing and user interviews
• A collaborative mindset with comfort giving and receiving design feedback
• Ability to adapt to design approaches across different industries, users, and problem spaces
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for AI-assisted design tools and workflows (e.g., Figma AI, Claude)
• Experience with motion design, advanced prototyping tools, front-end concepts, or workshop facilitation is a plus

The AI landscape changes weekly. You're senior enough to know better and curious enough to keep learning anyway.

You ship exceptional, not perfect, and you don't put your name on work you wouldn't stand behind.
