MRI Radiographer

In accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of Island Health (Vancouver Island Health Authority) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Under general supervision and reporting to the MRI supervisor or designate as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team providing client-centered care the MRI Technologist performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) special procedures. preparing and monitoring supplies and equipment; patient monitoring; and operating acquisition equipment including archiving acquired images and computerized patient data systems.
Education Training And Experience
Graduation from an accredited Magnetic Resonance program and designation as a certified Technologist in Magnetic Resonance (RTMR) with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
Demonstrate knowledge of image quality assessment and control and diagnostic equipment procedures radiation safety and quality control standards and practices.
Demonstrate proficient skills with the Microsoft suite of applications including Word and Excel and medical imaging computerized applications such as PACS.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary health care team
Ability to foster good public relations
Ability to operate related equipment including computer utilizing a variety of specialized software applications and electronic information systems
Demonstrated willingness to keep current with technological developments in the field
