Mining Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development, optimization, and delivery of mine plans, collaborating closely with Operations, Geology, and Geotechnical teams to ensure alignment of mine plans with business objectives, regulatory compliance, and long term resource strategies.

Develop mine plans, providing technical guidance and recommendations on sequencing, mining rates and equipment deployment

• Integrate mine plans with production forecasts, equipment availability and operating constraints
• Perform schedule and haulage optimization to balance production, cost, and equipment utilization
• Ensure schedules align with approved mine plan, regulatory requirements and business objectives
• Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to junior staff
• Identify opportunities to improve planning processes

Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Civil or Geological Engineering

• 8+ years of experience in mine engineering, planning, or operations
• Oil sands mine planning experience
• Experience with Deswik, AutoCAD and any commercial mine planning software package would be an asset
