User Experience Designer (Remote)

About The Role Under the leadership of the Senior Manager, UX Design & Content Strategy, the Junior User Experience Designer will help design and improve products and services for internal and external clients. You'll work alongside experienced UX designers who will provide coaching, feedback, and opportunities to develop your interaction design, and facilitation skills.
In this position, you will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders including product managers, business analysts, tax analysts, developers, quality assurance analysts, translators, and content writers.
Create wireflows, UI components, and annotated design handoffs for development.
Participate in design reviews and usability testing.
Contribute to and maintain the design system.
Partner with senior designers, product managers, and developers to solve user problems.
Use user insights and analytics to inform design decisions.
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, interactive, agile environment.
Communicate design decisions with clear rationale and incorporate feedback from stakeholders and teammates.
Work collaboratively and build relationships with our local and remote cross-functional team involved in the software development process.
How to facilitate design workshops
How to conduct usability testing
How to work within an enterprise design system
Post-secondary education in User Experience and/or Human Computer Interaction (HCI), and have an appreciation for the UX Design process.
Have 2-4 years of experience in user interface design, product design, or related design work.
A portfolio demonstrating your UX design process and visual design skills. Well-organized and clearly labelled UI components drawn from a design system or component library.
An understanding of user-centered design principles and agile development.
You’re eager to improve your UX / UI skills.
Knowledge of responsive design, visual design, typography, colour, and layout.

Fluency in English is required and fluency in French is considered an asset.
Familiarity with design systems and component libraries
Basic understanding of HTML/CSS (nice to have)
