Perfusionist

We're seeking a passionate & skilled Clinical Perfusionist to be a key player in the exciting world of cardiopulmonary support where cutting-edge technologies & life-saving care come together. In this dynamic role, you will deliver life-saving cardiopulmonary support, including extracorporeal life support (ECLS) & long-term ventricular assist device (VAD) management. We perform both Adult and Pediatric Cardiac Surgeries in one Cardiac Centre, the only one of its kind in Canada! We pride ourselves on hybrid operating room technology & a team of trained ECMO specialists, allowing our perfusionists to focus fully on patient care. As a teaching facility, we offer opportunity to engage in research, backed by a supportive environment.

We may include a recruitment bonus of up to $30,000 for new Perfusionists who commit to three years and relocation assistance of up to $10,000 for a one-year commitment in eligible positions.

As a Cardiovascular Perfusionist I, you are responsible for the safe and efficient preparation for and management of cardiopulmonary bypass and related cardiopulmonary support modalities for adult, pediatric and infant patients. You will work in consultation with attending physicians and will administer various anaesthetic and medical gases, other related pharmaceuticals, blood and blood products and various crystalloid solutions.

Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Perfusion training program. Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Perfusion training program. Perfusion students are welcome to apply given successful completion of their CSCP with Perfusion Certificate provided within 30 days of start date. Continuing education and maintenance of CSCP educational credits. Working on-call shifts is a requirement of this position.
