Accounting Clerk / Assistant

Paterson Grain is currently seeking a highly dependable, detail-oriented professional to fill the role of Accounting Clerk. In addition to providing administrative and accounting support, the successful candidate will manage numerous day-to-day accounting activities. This position is ideally suited for individuals who are well organized, have excellent time management skills and can maintain a high level of performance while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Post and analyze month-end accounting entries.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
Check, verify and process invoices.
Sort, code, and enter accounts payable data.
Reconcile and monitor bank statements, handle cheques, and deposits.
Preparation of government remittances and other regulatory reporting.
Perform filing and general administrative tasks.
Accounting Diploma and/or prior experience in an accounting environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.
Accounting experience in a high-volume environment considered an asset.
Experience working in accounting software such as Great Plains is considered an asset.
