Warehouse Worker - Morning and Afternoon Shift

Job duties & Responsibilities:

Receiving 75%

Have good knowledge of the operation of equipment and use of hand tools used in Receiving.

Load, unload and move products or materials by hand or with basic material handling equipment.

Ensure current knowledge and compliance with all safety requirements and with each piece of equipment operated.

Operate equipment and using hand tools in the shipping and receiving of product.

Track inventory levels and report any shortages to the Receiving Supervisor in advance when material is low.

Health and Safety 25%

Demonstrate awareness of proper warehouse and production safety procedures.

Ensure your safety and the safety of your coworkers by using the required personal protective equipment and adhere to all safety & injury prevention policies and procedures.

Follow all loss prevention policies and procedures.

Collaborate with the continuous improvement team, and always look for improved ways of performing your duties.

Identify and demonstrate use of personal protective equipment.

Keep work area free from clutter, recycling waste, and removing all dust daily.

Report all activities and hazards that may create an unsafe work environment.

Experience

Some experience working in a production facility would be an asset.

Basic knowledge of computer applications used in the shipping/receiving process.

Basic math and recording abilities.

Knowledge of waybills and bills of landing.

Knowledge of methods of weight measurement and verification.

Competencies

Communicate effectively in English both verbal and written.

The ability to move around the plant floor and maneuver materials and equipment.

Ability to multitask, organize your time and meet multiple deadlines.

Comfortable with high volume workload with the ability to "roll up your sleeves" and jump in.

Strong work ethic, action oriented and desire to achieve excellence.

High comfort level working in a fast-paced team environment that is constantly changing.

Pressure to produce tangible results and complete projects within tight timelines.

Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.

Willing to lean new things and take initiative to ask questions.

Working Conditions

Lifting and/or carrying anywhere from 0 llbs to 100 llbs.

Work in a production facility.

Repetitive movements and work.

Standing for extended periods.

Involves sitting, walking, standing, bending, stooping on a regular basis.

Walking near to heavy tool and moving machinery.

Exposure to all types of weather conditions, and dirt, dust and noise.

Flexibility in scheduling depending on production demands – able to work day &/or evening shift.

Opportunity for overtime on short notice due to operational needs.
