Summer Programs Manager

Flatwater North seeks a mature, skilled, enthusiastic and self-motivated Summer Programs Manager to oversee administration of the club programs and manage staff. The Summer Programs Manager oversees the day-to-day operation of the club’s summer day camp (Canoe Kids) and provides on-site supervision and leadership to camp counselors. The role supports the Regatta Ready program by identifying and recommending suitable participants from the summer camp program and coordinating operational needs for all programs. Since its beginning in 2013, the club has grown rapidly and steadily, creating a great community of young paddlers.

Contract Dates: May 11, 2026 - September 18, 2026 (Full time, with potential for extension with reduced hours).

Summer Camp Leadership (Canoe Kids)

• Provide daily supervision, leadership, and support to camp counsellors;
• Manage all program registrations through our online registration system;
• Support counsellors with activity planning, behavior management, and inclusion;
• Serve as the primary on-site lead during camp hours.

Manage parent/guardian communication and issue resolution;

• Ensure compliance with safety policies, emergency procedures, and risk management standards;
• Coordinate shared use of equipment and facilities between CanoeKids, Regatta Ready and Sprint Team;
• Support events or special sessions in a non-coaching capacity;
• School Programs, Dragon Boat and Other Summer Programs
• Provide supervision, leadership, and support to all summer programs;
• Ensure programming is safe, engaging, and age-appropriate.
• Strong availability throughout May and June to deliver canoe and dragon boat sessions for schools.

Equipment, Safety & Facilities

● Oversee safe use, organization, and basic care of boats, paddles, PFDs, and safety

Ensure equipment is prepared for daily camp use and shared programming;

• Experience working with children and youth;
• Experience dealing with parents and general public;
• Canoe and/or kayak experience (instructional background an asset);
• Clear Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check;
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Camp leadership or recreation management experience;
