Position Title: HR Business Partner Contract

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as the primary people and culture partner for the site working closely with plant leadership to drive business results through effective talent leadership and workforce practices. This role provides trusted partnership sound judgment and hands-on support to leaders while fostering a safe engaged and high-performing workplace.

The HRBP balances strategic partnership with operational execution ensuring HR programs and practices are aligned with business priorities while delivering a consistent and positive employee experience. Safety is foundational to everything we do and the HRBP plays a key role in reinforcing safe behaviours accountability and a respectful workplace culture.
This role will be supporting a fixed term contract of 18 months based on site in our Coaldale Alberta facility.

Member of the Plant Leadership Team collaborating to deliver shared business goals plant business and HR strategies. Provides strategic and operational support to the business and acts as an advisor to the leadership team
Lead and develop site HR team members to deliver consistent high-impact HR solutions in collaboration with operations. Set objectives conduct performance reviews and development planning for direct report(s)
Lead the employee engagement survey cycle and activities partnering with plant leadership to develop and implement engagement action plans at the site
Provide guidance and input on human resource aspects of plant operations strategic workforce planning performance management change management rewards recognition communications organizational e ff ectiveness succession planning inclusion & belonging organizational design and development
Handle escalated employee relations issues cases and code of conduct complaints
Ensure legal regulatory compliance and HR related audits
Ensure compliance with applicable provincial employment standards human rights legislation occupational health and safety requirements and company policies.
Coaching and capability building for plant team members. Advise coach and support people leaders within client groups to develop e ff ective management and leadership behaviors
Partner with Talent Acquisition team on salaried recruitment and oversee execution of high-volume recruitment process
Lead and manage employee relations matters ensuring fair consistent and timely resolution while exercising sound judgment and managing risk appropriately.
Lead annual processes including performance management talent management performance and compensation cycle ensuring connection to plant and corporate strategies
Support regional implementation of COE-driven processes policies and initiatives and champion our Thriving Community pillar through volunteerism
Refer employees to the Employee Experience Centre or the appropriate service channel to resolve inquiries / transaction requests and provide self- service coaching as appropriate

5-7 years of progressive HR experience ideally in a manufacturing or operational environment

• Bachelors degree in human resources or a related field highly preferred
• Advanced degree in HR and/or Professional Human Resources certification / designation would be an asset
• Strong working knowledge of Canadian and Alberta employment legislation employee relations and HR best practices
• Experience supporting organizational change leadership development and engagement initiatives
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex environment effectively
• Ability to drive results in a fast paced agile manner
• Strong orientation and skillset in leveraging data to draw insights and inform decisions

CAD annual base salary equivalency paid in alignment to contract term

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience skill set education and training and other organizational needs. This posting is for an existing vacancy.
