We're looking for a mission-driven Community Recreation Coordinator who is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.
Assists in researching local community programs and events for participants to attend.
Working with program staff, coordinates in-person camp, an opportunity for the CNIB children and youth participants.
Provides information to the community regarding summer programming for youth and people with sight loss.
Assists with the planning and implementation of programming and special events for youth participants with sight loss, who are blind or deafblind.
Assists program staff with volunteer recruitment and training
Administrative responsibilities in support of CNIB operations, including answering calls and responding to in-person inquiries involving client service, special events and programming.
Performs general administrative duties as required including working with program expenses
Increases education and awareness of CNIB (volunteer opportunities, general public awareness, advocacy) through various communication channels, including social media, and community engagement.
Attended full time University/College or Senior High School in the past academic year.

Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office 365 applications and experience working in databases.
Customer Service experience an asset.
Experience working with disabilities an asset.
Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.
