Business Systems Analyst – Investment Banking

Client: Big 5 Bank

Hybrid: Mon/Tues in office.

Duration of Contract/Perm: 12 months contract with potential for extension or conversion.

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with a strong background in investment banking or financial services. This role involves working closely with vendors, QA teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure system changes are well-documented, testable, and aligned with business needs. A strong work ethic, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to interpret complex data sets are essential.

Gather and document detailed business and functional requirements for investment banking systems and applications.

Collaborate with QA teams to ensure test cases align with documented requirements and business expectations.

Conduct data profiling and write SQL queries to validate and interpret large datasets (millions of records).

Identify data gaps, logic mismatches, and edge cases; Support system integration efforts and ensure alignment with front-to-back office processes in investment banking.

Familiarity with capital markets, trading systems, or investment operations.

Ability to write SQL queries, perform data profiling, and interpret data logic.

Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Articulate, diligent, and capable of translating technical details into business language.

Fast-paced, responsive, and committed to high-quality delivery.

Experience with front-to-back office systems in investment banking

Familiarity with regulatory reporting and compliance in financial services.

Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies

Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and SQL.
