We proudly serve over 40,000 students across almost 100 elementary and secondary schools in Niagara, located between Lake Erie in the South and Lake Ontario to the North.

Supply Interpreter
RATE OF PAY: $30.36 per hour (including 4%vacation pay)
The Supply Interpreter provides American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other sign language interpretation services to facilitate effective communication between Deaf or Hard of Hearing students, parents, and educational staff within the school environment. The Supply Interpreter also supports educational teams by contributing insights on communication strategies and participating in Individual Education Plan (IEP) development and review. Flexibility and professionalism are key, as the interpreter may be called upon to assist in various settings and situations as needs arise.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to an OMERS Pension paving the way for long-term financial security. The DSBN provides opportunities for long-term placements that could lead to full-time permanent employment. Interpreting in the classroom and assemblies for students;
Graduation from a recognized interpreter training program (ITP);
Active membership in the provincial and national interpreting associations;
Fluency in English and American Sign Language (ASL);
