Casual Overnight RN

Job Responsibility:
Hospice Simcoe is looking for a caring, compassionate health care professional to join our team . Our 10-bed residence gives people who are living with a palliative diagnosis the opportunity to live with dignity and comfort in a place that feels like home.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plans and implements interventions, and evaluates resident response
• Documents assessments, orders, interventions, and results in the medical record
• Participates in Resident Care Rounds
• Provides information, education, and support to residents, families, visitors, peers, and volunteers
• Fosters teamwork
• Facilitates communication between residents, family members, and volunteers
• Serves as a resource person to volunteers
• Promotes and practices economical and effective palliative care
• Exhibits behaviors that reflect commitment to the philosophy and vision of Hospice Simcoe
• Remains current on research findings and integrates into practice
• Promotes excellence in nursing practice.

• Maintains active Registration with College of Nurses of Ontario and demonstrates continued competency in the management of resident care;
• Formal advanced courses in Hospice Palliative Care;
• Minimum of five years nursing experience with two clinical years in palliative care an asset.
• 24Must be flexible in hours of work but able to commit to working 12-hour day and night shifts on a ‘”as need basis” for coverage of employee vacations and absences.
