Nursing - Registered Practical Nurse Casual

The RPN/LPN will enhance the effective management and quality of nursing practice daily in keeping with the standards and expectations set out by governing bodies and internal policies and standards of care.
Union Local:
Union Classification (Title): RPN or LPN as applicable
Salary: RPN Visit Rate
Nursing Schedule: As per collective agreement
Access to reliable vehicle in community home care is required

1. Ensure care is provided with established nursing standards and principles physicians orders and administrative policies as well as observe report and record vital signs symptoms and conditions of residents / patients. Assure observance of required techniques in nursing care
2. Assist in assessing patients/residents and develop implement review and evaluate care plans. Monitor health notes changes in condition and assess need for referral to doctors; processes and implement physicians orders
3. Previous managerial experience in long-term care or community homecare preferred

1. Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices as well as Knowledge in Infection Control Practices
2. Demonstrated commitment to working with seniors
3. Ability to present information clearly and effectively both verbally whether in person or over the phone and in writing; an active listener who projects a friendly demeanour
