Standard General Calgary is a growing, dynamic contractor in land development and road construction in the greater Calgary area. Through our affiliation with the Colas Group of Companies, we are part of an organization that is a world leader in road construction. You’ll be able to take advantage of professional development and growth opportunities while working on exciting, leading-edge projects. Works as part of the paving crew primarily raking asphalt, shoveling excess asphalt and sweeping up debris.
- Complete a variety of other general labour assignments such as clean and prepare sites,
- Spread asphalt using efficient techniques and maintaining a good pace.
- Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labour.
- Maintain a clean job site, pick up tools and equipment in order to eliminate potential hazards.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labour under adverse field conditions.
- Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.
- Work overtime as required.
Education, Training and Certifications
- Valid driver’s license (Class 5) with clean driving abstract.
- Work Experience
- Technical Skills
- Knowledge of all paving equipment and the paving process.
- Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.
Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Overtime as required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with last minute schedule changes.
