As we continue with our continuous growth strategy, we are seeking a Full Time Equipment Operator to join our Fort McMurray Project team and be an integral part of our future success. These projects is based out of our Suncor Base Plant locations. This is a project-based position, will start as a 10 day on 4 day off rotation schedule, but may change based on project needs. Strong consideration given to Local Fort McMurray Residents. The Heavy Equipment Operator must have the ability to work in a safe and cautious manner inside a live processing plant which contains high congestion and tight working conditions. They will be operating a 200 Series CAT (rubber tired) Excavator, 323 skid steer and Front End Loader with attachments: Operate Loader, skid steer, and excavator to finish quality, in a safe and efficient manner
Dig or excavate trenches to specified depth, width, and angle for installation
Haul material to/from work locations
Backfill and trim excess material
Instruct other crew members as required
Occasional driving light-medium trucks
Identify and Control possible hazards
Perform other duties as assigned by the lead hand or site supervision
Handling materials, mats, piping and valves. Perform other duties as assigned by the lead hand or site supervision
Min 3 years as an Equipment operator; preferred water and sewer/excavation and piping experience
Oilsands or industrial experience an asset
Previous Suncor experience (asset)
